Jess

Jess joins Uganda Creates in early 2019 as a trustee, bringing with her a passion for public relations, digital marketing and sustainable international development. With her international background in living and working in the US, UK and across Asia, she has worked with charities and organisations that focus on local, grassroots development and tailored solutions for targeted socio-economic, educational and environmental issues. Such charities include ANZA Tanzania, a business accelerator empowering local businesses and entrepreneurs; the York International Development Network, which utilises on-the-ground research to formulate targeted solutions in areas including creative activism in Uganda and sustainable energy in Colombia; and Crossroads Hong Kong, an NGO committed to providing local solutions and education programmes for the city. 

Jess also has a degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of York and most recently worked for one of London’s leading PR and marketing agencies across a wide portfolio of leading restauraters, hoteliers, tourism companies and brands. She is excited to bring together her passion for encouraging equality, empowerment and justice through grassroots activity with her experience in digital and print marketing, press relations, event management and social media in this role with Uganda Creates.
